Sevagram Ashram
Sevagram Ashram is one of the most historically significant and peaceful places in India, closely associated with Mahatma Gandhi. Established in 1936, this ashram served as Gandhi’s residence and headquarters during the final phase of India’s freedom struggle. It is located near Hinganghat in Wardha district and reflects the principles of simplicity, truth, non-violence, and self-reliance.
Originally known as Segaon, the village was renamed “Sevagram,” meaning “village of service,” symbolizing Gandhi’s dedication to rural development and nation-building.
